Eating It up!

This year we have challenged our youth group here at the church where I work (www.kcc.net) to read our bibles everyday! The word of God is so important we need to build right foundations for our days, weeks, and even entire life. If we say we love God, we need to do what he says…we can not act on what he has said if we do not know! It is vital to a christian life, if we desire to keep growing and being changed, to read the bibles for ourselves, as well as hear the word of God preached and spoken about from others (this includes blogs like mine where we can be encouraged in the word of God).

Listed below is a few comments I have received from some youth that have been dialing reading their bibles!

Get hungry…. Eat it Up…..Love it!

I loved this chapter!!! It was so good....very insightful, instructional and its just really good! lol God Bless you
Cassandra –regarding Luke 6

I thought this passage showed different stories but all with the same thing. They are all different people that Jesus lifts up and exalts. The centurion: Jesus like him for his incredable faith and that he had seen nobody with that much faith. The widow: Jesus had compassion for her and knew what kind of position she would be in after that funeral, so he raised her son from the . John the Baptist: Jesus was talking about how much he was living his life completely for God, and he said that he was the best man born of women (now there's a compliment, wow). The sinful woman: Jesus liked her because of her great love for him. These four example are good for us because we know that God liked them; if we are like them God will like us. (I know God already loves us unconditionally, but when I say like, i mean that they are good enough that God wants us to be like them.

Kenny –regarding Luke7

This does not include the many verbal things I have heard. Even I find as I am reading the same passages as everyone else in the group, just a sense of love. It was a lot of work at first but the more I routinely get in the word of God the more I enjoy it, and even love spending time with God! If you are struggling to read the word I suggest you start, push in for a week or two, and then see if you have learned and enjoy it! God’s words are so precious, and we need to remind ourselves of this, and prove that we believe it by spending time in His word.

If you love me, keep my commands –Jesus quoted from John 14:15

What do you see!

Good morning 2006, this is the dawn not only of a new day but a new year. For many this time of year is a great time to reflect on the past year and see what happened both negative and positive, and for many that is very depressing because as people remember the pain and hard times it seems to overwhelm the good times and create this mind monster that haunts us for the rest of our lives reminding us how bad our year and ultimately our lives are! Well, I could say a lot about this, however if you wish to learn my thought on this simple look back over some xanga entries and you will see I am usually very optimistic, and feel more people need to experience the overflowing Joy of the Lord to overcome depression and false realities of ourselves and our lives. We need to see ourselves through God’s eyes.

For others the beginning of the year is a time to look ahead and dream, it is a chance to say to ourselves, I am here and going further, I chose to press on, I chose to fight today and this year, I chose to become more of who God has designed me to be. It is a time of resolutions as we see people trying to improve and change themselves to something better. Although we all know most resolutions do not make it past February, like come on let’s be real people!

Although most resolutions do not last, and no one loses a 100lbs by swimsuit season, I still think it is important and needed to look ahead spiritually, and open our eyes and say, God what do you see for this year? Help me to see it please Lord. I know that God has the answers in his hands and I believe if we ask for his vision he will give it to us, if we say, open the eyes of our hearts Lord, he is faithful to do it, and what a wonderful year we will see!

I could spend all day telling you what I see for 2006, what my vision, and goals are, what dreams I have, and what dreams I even believe the Lord has for us, but instead I think it is important that each person find this for themselves. So here are a few verses on vision, and the importance of having it and writing it down, and I challenge you to take time and pray ask to see what God sees for this year and write it down, if it is area of change write down that u want god to help you change in this area, to be better, to move forward to change the world! This is a new year, last year had is problems, also had it’s victories, but now we are here, and the time has come to chose to fight hard and press forward, for the sake of our selves, family, friends, and even future generations to come!

As a friend of mine had put on his MSN: “My challenge to you, challenge yourself” I agree with this, but also want to add to it, allow God to challenge you this year!

Happy new years friends!

Then the LORD said to me, "Write my answer (the vision) in large, clear letters on a tablet, so that a runner can read it and tell everyone else. Hab.2:2

When people do not accept divine guidance, they run wild. But whoever obeys the law is happy.

When people do not accept divine guidance, they run wild. But whoever obeys the law is happy.

Where [there is] no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy [is] he. Prov29:18

asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that you might grow in your knowledge of God. the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints Eph1:17-18
